Junior Tennis at NPTC

The Club has a strong Junior membership and offers Junior members opportunities for both social and competitive play.
Junior members have year-round access to the courts, a dedicated Junior Club night from late April to late October and the opportunity to participate in dedicated junior coaching with Club Coach, Sue Evans.
You can download a junior membership form by following this link: Junior Membership Form 2010
The Club provides mini red, orange and green tennis to LTA standards during Junior Club nights so that junior players benefit from this LTA endorsed initiative. Mini-tennis also allows our junior members to compete in LTA events, some of which we will be hosting. We are very grateful to Sport MK for their generous grant which has been used along with money raised by the club to purchase equipment which is specifically designed for mini-tennis. We are also grateful to Bucks LTA for their support towards the cost of tennis balls for junior club nights which is much appreciated.
The success of our Under 18's teams was featured in an article within the December 2008 edition of Tiebreaker, the magazine of Bucks tennis and the Club's work with young volunteers has been noted on the main LTA website. To read the article simply follow this link: LTA article on young volunteers

Teams & Competitions

The Club participates in both the Milton Keynes Tennis League and the Bucks Shield and has a full schedule of fixtures for the 2010/11 season at both adult and junior level.
The finals of the Club's annual tournament for members took place on 12th and 13th September 2009 and were very well supported with spectators treated to some high quality matches. Congratulations to those who went home with the trophies and thanks to everyone who took part.
Once again, the Club ran a Men's Tennis League throughout the summer which was very competitive and ended in September with Stuart Lovell the overall League and League Cup winner. For the full schedule of fixtures and results [click here]. For more information about our men’s singles league and to see the latest league table, please visit the league’s dedicated group of pages under the club competitions menu.

NPTC in the community
NPTC is very active in raising money for good causes. In 2009, the Club ran both of our annual sponosored charity events, the 12 hour tennis marathon and the junior fun day, which were very well supported and enjoyed by all who attended. In addition, Club Coach Sue Evans organised a charity American-tournament for her Monday evening coaching group, and money was also raised as a result of a raffle and the sale of refreshments and programmes at the club's annual tournament finals weekend.
We are delighted to announce that the Club has raised a total of £544.68 last summer, of which half has been donated to Willen Hospice. The other half will go in to club funds.
Thank you very much to everyone who has helped us to reach such an excellent total. We look forward to raising even more money next year.

Tennis Clubmark

We are delighted to announce that Newport Pagnell Tennis Club achieved the 'Tennis Clubmark' quality accreditation from the LTA on 30 September 2009.
This scheme was introduced by Sport England across 24 different sports including Tennis with the aim of ensuring consistent best practice and operating standards in accredited clubs, in particular with working with children and young people. The achievement of Tennis Clubmark is the culmination of much hard work by the Club over the past year to ensure that it meets or exceeds the standards set down by the LTA and is an important milestone for the future development of the club as it opens up potential funding opportunities for new initiatives which would not otherwise be available.
While we are naturally delighted to be awarded Clubmark, there are still things the Club can improve on so your feedback is always welcome.
